Multiple-entry visa

May 04, 2017
Hello, I am intending to visit Vietnam, then leave for Cambodia (for a Mekong cruise) and re-enter Vietnam afterwards.
Do I need a visa as German, can I get it upon entry at the airport, and how long can I stay each time? I live in Switzerland. Would you advise to obtain a multiple-entry visa before travelling? Thank you!

Dear Nikole,

Thanks for your question!

It is informed that German passport holders do not need visa if staying in Vietnam within 15 days (From the date of July 1st, 2016 to over the date of June 30th, 2017). However, the previous visit must be far from the next one at least 30 days. In addition, the passport must be valid at least 6 months.

For the first time you enter Vietnam, if you are going to stay for 15 days, you will not need visa. But for the second one, you have to apply visa if you want to return to Vietnam

And you can apply for visa on arrival on our website at this link: https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html

Best regards,

Nina
