VOA: Visa on arrival

Visa on Arrival (VOA) is a type of Visa that you get when arriving at the Vietnam International airports. When applying for VOA, you will get a Visa Approval letter which is used for boarding the plane and getting Visa Stamp and Visa Sticker at the Vietnam airports.

The valid time of VOA:

For Tourist VOA: based on your return ticket, and your stay must be less than 20 days.

For Business VOA: 3 months multiple entries. The requirements for Business VOA are listed below:

  1. A sponsor company in Vietnam (the company you will work for after entering Vietnam) that is willing to sponsor your visa and travel. It must be a real company, not a service one, as you may encounter certain hardships if using a service/ghost one.
  2. Your passport: must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Vietnam and have at least 02 blank pages.
  3. Certified copy of Business registration of the sponsor company
  4. Form NA2
  5. Form NA16
  6. Other documents as required.

This process will take around 7 - 12 working days since receipt of full documents.

    visa for Vietnam

    Dec 31, 2023
My husband and I will be traveling on a cruise ship leaving out of Hong Kong in March of '24 that will be stopping at several Vietnamese ports. Will we need a visa for this? If so, can we apply for an E-visa?

    Dear Donna Hatlen,

Thank you for your attention to our website.

In this case, you need Visa to visit Vietnam  on a cruise ship.

For international cruise ships with journeys through many Vietnamese seaports, passengers complete entry procedures at the first seaport border gate; Carry out exit procedures at the final seaport border gate; and only carry out procedures of comparing the passenger list when boarding and disembarking the ship at other seaports during the journey.

But you should apply for the multiple-entry E-Visa for assurance.

You can apply for the E-Visa with us at this link https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html

If you have any other questions, or requests, please feel free to contact us via visa@vietnam-evisa.org.

    Best regards,
