When can I apply for a vietnam e-visa if we are planning a trip on December?

Greetings from Guatemala, Central America. We are planning with my wife a trip to Vietnam. However, since the only time we can travel to Vietnam is on December, we were wondering if we can apply for the e-visa on July or August?Or does it has to be 3 months before the trip?
