I plan on being in Vietnam for 5 weeks and read somewhere that people from the US can only have 1 year visas. Is this true?

According to the new Regulation from The Vietnamese Immigration Department, from Aug 25th 2016, US citizens just get only 1 type of Visa that is 1 year multiple entries Visa and the stamping fee is 135USD/person.
