I am flying Monday to Thailand and will spend a couple weeks there before going to Vietnam.
I am planning to go by plane or bus, not sure yet, but will arrive sometime in next 3 weeks.
I have a return ticket out of Bangkok to Canada Jan 23.
Can I apply now to arrive sometime after Dec 20 for the 30 day stamp or do I have to have a flight already booked?

Dear Greg,
We process Visa on arrival for whom entering to Vietnam by AIR. If you enter to Vietnam by BUS, you need to apply Electronic visa.
You can put the arrival date on DEC 20 and entering to Vietnam after arrival date without any problem.
If you book extra Fast track service, so we need the exact arrival date and your flight details.

Can i enter to Vietnam from Hai phong airport, Cat Bi airport? i will be flying there from Bangkok, and on the application here i cant find Haiphong airport.
Can you please advice me on what i need to do?

May I know your nationality please?
We don't have fast track service at HAIPHONG so you couldn't find the port in the application form
However, You can apply at this link and use the approval letter to enter VIETNAM by HAIPHONG airport https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/visa-fee/new-zealand.html
