Good evening,
My boyfriend and I will come to Vietnam from Italy on the 4th August. We'll stay there until 15th August, then we will go to Malesia. We still don't have the tickets but it's possible that we will buy a flight to and from Ho chi min, so maybe we will need to enter again in Vietnam within 30 days, just to take the plane back to Italy. What do we have to do with the VISA? We need to do it from the first entrance, or we can do it later just when we enter Vietnam for the second time?

We would like to inform that Italian passport holders can have 15 days Visa exemption if you did not enter Vietnam at least 30 days before.
As your mentioned itinerary, you can use 15 days Vietnam Visa exemption for the first entry. Then, on the second entry to Vietnam, you can apply for a Visa on arrival online at this link https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html while you are in Malaysia.
