I will be entering Vietnam via Hanoi from Ireland, then leaving the country and re-entering via Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)by train/bus, and exiting via Ho Chi Minh to return to Ireland. Is the regular multi-entry visa the correct one for me to purchase?

We are pleased to answer your question. In order to enter Vietnam at Hanoi airport, leave Vietnam, re-enter Vietnam at Hochiminh airport, you shoul apply multiple entries visa. You can use this visa for the first arrival at Hanoi and the second arrival at Hochiminh airport.
