multiple entry visa

Nov 13, 2017
My husband and I will be arriving into Hanoi Dec. 15th, travel overland to cross the border into Cambodia at Le Thanh about Dec. 25th. Then we will cross back into Vietnam either from Phu Quoc or by boat from Phnom Penh to fly out of Ho Chi Minh City on Jan 13th. What type of visa do we need, how much do they cost and how can we get them?
The consulate in Washington, DC said that we must send our passports in and get multiple entry visas for $135 each. Is this correct?

Dear Mrs. Kathy Gray,

Referring to your itinerary (Dec 15th 2017 to Jan 13th 2018) and your first entry port would be Hanoi airport, you can apply for a one month multiple entry visa to Vietnam. You will pay 2 types of fee: the service fee 24USD (online payment) and the stamping fee 50USD (in cash upon arrival, to the Immigration Officer to get your visa stamped).

There is no document required. You only need to fill in the form then make online payment. After 2 working days (for tourist visa), we will send you the approval letter via email. You should print it out to board the plane and to get the visa stamp at the Vietnam int’l airport.
