Tourist Visa for Cruise Vacation

Jan 27, 2018
Hello, we will be cruising to three different ports in Vietnam July 2018. I believe Singapore citizens do not need a visa to enter Vietnam, can you please confirm? My son however is a USA citizen and will need a visa. Please advise me what kind of visa he needs, what is the best way to apply for one and how far in advance can we apply for one? We do not live anywhere near a city that has a consulate or embassy available to us. Thank you!

Dear Tess Candelora,

Thank you for your concern.

About your question, we would like to inform that:

1/ The Singapore passport holders can have Vietnam visa exemption if:

  • Having a period of stay not exceeding 30 days
  • Holding at least 6 month valid passport
  • Having the time of entry which must be at least 30 days before the visa exemption period.

2/ Your son need to apply for electronic visa which allows him to travel by cruise:

To apply for it, please send us his passport scan and passport photos to email address: visa@vietnam-evisa.org

And you should apply for it at least four working days before arriving.

Best regards,

Brenda Bui (Ms.)
