transit visa

Nov 02, 2016

Does my client need a transit visa if he is flying from Hong Kong to Siem Reap on Vietnam Airlines and just changing planes in Hanoi? He will be coming back to Vietnam later for a 2 day stay. I know he will need a visa for that stay in Ho Chi Minh City. Does he need a multiple entry visa for the transit and the 2 day stay or is a single entry visa enough?
Thank you.

Dear Sir/ Madam

Thank you for your email.

It is informed that now Vietnam Immigration only issues 1 type of visa for US citizens and that is 1 year multiple visa. So he should apply a 1 year visa for his transit in Hanoi and 2 days stay in Hochiminh. And it costs 30USD/person for tourist visa service fee for this type of visa. This fee is not including stamping fee 135USD/person for stamping fee at the airport.

If you want to apply visa, you just need to fill in the application form online here: https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Regards,

Evisa Team
