can the passport visa have a opem entrey date scens I do not have every thing ready to go plus may be in Austrila for a mounth.

We would like to inform that the visa on arrival will be valid for 1 month or 3 month, depends on your choice, and start from the arrival date you put on the application. There for, if you doesn't have anything ready yet, but still want to apply visa, you can give an approxe date of arrival and enter Vietnam later, within your visa validity.
