Visa

Hi, I'm currently on a years working visa in NZ but planning a tour to Asia which will include entry into Vietnam. How do I go about getting a visa, how much does it cost in NZD? It's only a 2 week tour which goes through other countries but starts in Ho Chi Minh City. Am I best getting one at the airport or before I go?
