I am currently on holiday in Thailand, but want to visit a sick friend in Vietnam. I will only be there a couple of days, as will return to Thailand to complete my holiday. I am a British citizen. Will I need a visa for Vietnam?

Thank you for your question.
From July, 1st 2015 to next June 2016, Vietnam Government exempts Visas for nationals of 5 Western European countries as: France, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom and Italy. They do not need visa if staying in Vietnam less than 15 days regardless of their purpose or type of visas. So if you stay in Vietnam a couple of days, you don't need a visa.
