visa at arrival (crossing border via land port)

Nov 16, 2017
Dear Sir or Madam,

Regarding our upcoming journey to i. e. Vietnam (length of stay is 8 to 9 days in Vietnam) we would like to know, if we need to apply for a tourist visa in advance or if we will get a visa at arrival? We (german nationality) plan to cross the border from Cambodia to Vietnam at Prek Chak International Border Check Point or close to Chau Doc a little further inland.

By phone we already got the information from the Vietnamese Embassy in Berlin, we will get a visa at arrival but only at international border ports - therefor we would like to make sure Prek Chak is one of them and how much is the visa fee we would have to pay for at the border ( I guess it's for free?)?

Thank you very much for helping us with this.

Kind regards,
Antje

Dear Sir/Madam,

We would like to confirm you that according to the Vietnam Immigration's new policy, from July 1, 2015 to June 30th 2018, Great Britain, France, Spain, German, Italy and Belarus no need Visa if they stay in Vietnam less than 15 days. However, the previous visit must be far from the next visit at least 30 days.

Thanks,

Anna Lily (Ms.)

Dear Ms. Anna Lily,

Thank you for your confirmation.

Does this new policy for i.e. Germany also mean, we can cross the border by landport in Prek Chak and will get our free 15 days visa there? Online we online found information about international airports in Vietnam.

Thank you,

Hi Ms. Antje,

According to the visa exemption policy, you can enter Vietnam via any port of Vietnam.
