Visa fees for US passport holders

Aug 31, 2016

1) Can you share the announcement of the new bilateral cooperation between US government and Vietnam?

2) Why is visa processing fee 100 USD here while other websites show 60 USD? (vietnamvisa.org)

3) I was charged 100 USD/person for visa fee but confirmation only shows 1 month single entry. application ID: EVS464403

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thanks for your question!

1. There is a change for American passport holders who want to get Vietnam visa. From Aug/25/2016, the Vietnam Immigration just issues 1 type of visa for USA citizens, it is 1 year multiple tourist visa. However, they can stay in Vietnam 90 days maximum per visit. The service fee to process visa is $100US and stamping fee will be $135US/person at Vietnam airport. The new reciprocity arrangement will benefit American and Vietnamese, generating new opportunities for trade, investment and tourism.

2. There are many visa on arrival websites and we do not know why the site you mentioned offer that fee for US citizens

3. Your application shows 1 month single entry since you selected it on the step 1. On step 2, we have already informed you the new regulation for US citizens so even you select 1 month or 3 months visa, the Vietnam Immigration just process 1 year visa for you. That is why the service fee it $100US/person

Best regards,

Evisa Team
