Hello,
My boyfriend and I plan to visit Vietnam next month for approximately 5 days. I am South African and he is British. Can we get visa on arrival or do we need to do the application on line.

Thanks for your question!
It is informed that South African passport holders can get visa on arrival but must apply online beforehand to get the approval letter. Please apply at this link and we will process visa for you: https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html
And UK passport holders do not need visa if staying in Vietnam within 15 days. However, the previous visit must be far from the next one at least 30 days. In addition, the passport must be valid at least 6 months
