Visa questions

Sep 24, 2016

My son and I plan to visit Vietnam in the end of Nov. I was told from the Vietnam consulate that they no long provide single entry up to 30 days visa for US citizens and the only visa I can get is a 1 year multi-entry visa for $225. This is too much for only staying a few days to 1 week.
Are they going to allow a single pass entry visa on arrival for a US citizen? Or would they make us get the multi-entry visa?
What are your fees besides the $25 stamping fee?
