Visa requirement for seamen

Thank you for your email!

The online visa (or Visa on arrival) is just accepted if you are travelling by plane only. 

According to the Vietnam Immigration's new policy, from July 1, 2015 to June 2016, 6 countries (including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK and Belarus) no need Visa if they stay in Vietnam less than 15 days. And the previous visit must be far at least 30 days the next visit.

However, until now we are still waiting for new policy. If this rule is not updated after June 30 2016, you need to apply visa to enter Vietnam. You can apply at this link: http://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html.

If he needs work permit, please prepare these documents to get it

1. Business License / Certificate of Investment of the enterprise, representative office license, etc.
2. 02 Photos 4cmx6cm (white background, without glasses)
3. Certified copy of passport
4. Official letter approving the recruitment of foreign employees
5. Application form for issuance of work permit for foreigner made by company in Vietnam
6. Degree (University, College, Intermediate)
7. Certification of at least 3 years of working experience abroad or certification of experts in the same position.
8. Foreign criminal record or in Vietnam have a term of 6 months up to the date of application for a work permit.
9. Health checkup paper not more than 12 months in a foreign country or at some hospitals prescribed by the Ministry of Health in Vietnam.

Note:  All the documents issued not in Vietnam need to be consular legalized, translated into Vietnam and notarized in Vietnam.

After receving your payment, we will process visa base on the information was given and it takes 2 working days for tourist and 5-7 working days for business visa. We will send the approval letter back to you via email

To first answer your questions, please notice that unless your vessel needs to enter any seaport in Vietnam, you do not need to apply for a visa.

However, if it does, please contact Vietnam Embassy in your country for more precise information on your case as we only process E-visa for tourism and business purpose only.

If you are holding Philipine Passport, you can enter VN without visa , and you can stay at least 21 days. 

In case,  you want to stay more. Please kindly apply a new visa.
