As you have already stated that you do not need a visa if you come from one the 6 countries mentioned the UK being one of them providing your stay is less than 15days which it will be, just 2 nights in fact, I would like to know if my girlfriend who will be travelling with me will need a visa as she is from Laos, so I don't know if there is a similar kind of arrangement with her Country. Please to advice me on this subject and we are coming from Thailand by plane

It is correct that if you hold UK passport, you do not need to get visa for 15 days, but please be noted that the previous visit must be far 30 days the next visit.
By the way, Laos passport holder can enter Vietnam without visa for 30 days.
