We would like to confirm that US citizen can get Visa on arrival, but you need to apply online before arrival.

You can apply for Visa on arrival here https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html. After receiving your application form, we will process your Visa and send you the Visa approval letter via your email within 1 to 2 working days. Then, you print the letter out and use it to get Visa stamp at the Hochiminh airport upon arrival.
