I am a Danish citizen currently in Myanmar, but i'm planning on going to ha noi from Yangon. I understand I don't need visa if I have a ticket out of Vietnam within 14 days. Normally when you check in at the airport it is required to show a letter of approval. Is it common knowledge that I don't need visa or do I need to show some documentation ( besides the ticket out of Vietnam)?

We would like to inform that the approval letter you mentioned is the visa approval letter. And since you don't need a visa for 14 days staying, you don't need to that.
