I am traveling to Hanoi with the intention of teaching English - i dont have a job lined up right now but am hoping to get one in the first few weeks. Would I need a 3 month business visa or a 3 month tourist visa?

If you intend to travel to Vietnam with the English teacher purpose, you must apply the work permit. As because, normally, with the business visa, the customer have already had business purpose in Vietnam.
