I'm travelling round South East Asia for 3 months from October 2017. I'm eager to get as many visas purchased / sorted before I leave.I wont be in Vietnam until mid November, how far in advance of my entry can i get my Vietnamese visa.

Dear Sir/Madam,
You even can apply visa now if you want to travel to Vietnam in November 2017. The tourist visa just takes 2 working days to process, while the business visa needs 3 days.
