I am traveling to Ho Chi Minh at the beginning of September, so I know I will need a VISA to enter the country. During my stay I will be traveling, roundtrip, from Hanoi to Laos - do I need to obtain a VISA to re-enter Vietnam from Laos

We would like to inform that in your case, you should apply visa for multiple entries, then you can use it to enter both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh airport, no need to get another visa to reenter Hanoi from Laos.
