My son will travel from London to Melbourne on 24th-26th September. He will take flight VN54 from London (11.10h) to Hanoi on 24 September (arriving Hanoi 25 September 04.50h). He will then take VN217 from Hanoi (07.00h) to Ho Chi Minh City (arriving 09.10h).
He leaves Ho Chi Minh City on flight VN781 to Melbourne at 21.30h on 25 September and so will stay for 12 hours in the airport during the day of 25 September.
Does he need a Vietnam Visa to transfer from the International flight London-Hanoi and then get the domestic flight Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City?

Dear Sir,
He needs to apply visa to enter Vietnam, and he will get the visa stamp in Hanoi first. With the domestic flight, he cannot get the visa stamp.
