Visa Run

Please I am a Ghanaian, and I want to travel to Vietnam. I have 11 months' validity on my passport (it expires on 01/07/2020). Please is it advisable for me to apply for a visa with it? There is no Ghana embassy in Vietnam so when it expires whiles I am still in Vietnam how do I renew it? Will I be able to extend my visa when my passport validity date runs less than 6 months? Kindly find answers to these questions for me. Thank you
