What should I prepare before applying for a Vietnam Visa?

Vietnam is recorded as one of the safest places in the world during Covid Pandemic. Contributing to this success are the Government policies, including the strictly policies in immigration.

Therefore, during Covid-19 period, the Government only allows diplomats, officials, foreign investors, experts, and high-skilled workers to arrive by obtaining the 3 months single entry business visa. Expats should ensure that they have a sponsor who can assist them in obtaining the necessary paperwork.

Beside having a sponsor company, expats have to prepare many docs for the visa procedure. Then what are these requirements? Please check below:

Please do the Real Time PRC Covid Test. As you have to submit Negative COVID-19 test result for at least three days before entering Vietnam using the real-time PCR technique. (The tests must be done at testing centers approved by their government or at test centers approved by the World Health Organization (WHO);)

Please check your passport validity. It must be valid for at least 6 months since your entry date.

And Spouses/ Children of experts, investors, skilled workers need to provide paper proving status like marriage certificate/ birth certificate that need to be consular legalized and translated into Vietnamese. Please prepare these docs before applying for the Vietnam Visa during Covid-19 period.

Overseas Students/ Interns have to ask for an invitation letter and/ company business licensefrom your Sponsor university/ Sponsor school/ Sponsor Company. Otherwise, you’re not appicable to apply for the visa.

Employees are required to have health insurance which covers health costs abroad, or be able to provide a guarantee from their company that it will cover any coronavirus-related costs.

And moreover, you have to prepare for stamping fee. Before Covid, there’re some nationalities that have visa exemption. But due to Covid Pandemic, the Vietnamese Government suspend visa exemption for all nationalities. Therefore, even before Covid you don’t need to apply for a visa, don’t need to pay for stamping fee, now you have to follow the Vietnamese Government’s statutes and policies, you have to apply for a visa and pay stamping fee. 25usd/person for single entry; 50usd/person for multiple entry.

Please prepare 2 photos to submit when arriving at the Vietnam airport. Photos with white background, no hats, no glasses, 4x6cm.

Furthermore, you can fill out the Health Declaration Form in advance to save time. But please note: Declaring false information is a violation of Vietnamese law and may be subject to criminal handling.
