Hello,
I am an Indian passport holder residing in UAE; I was told by an agency that I don't require to apply for a Vietnam visa as I have an u.s. visa stamped in my passport, I find it hard to believe and have been trying the consulate, but no response.
Can you pls check and advise

We would like to confirm that you have to get Visa to arrive Vietnam, even if you have US Visa stamp in your passport.
You can apply for Visa on arrival on our website https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html. After receiving your application form, we will send you the Visa approval letter which is issued by the Vietnamese Immigration Department via email. Then you use this letter to get Visa stamp at the airport when you arrive Vietnam.
