Visas and Border Crossings into Vietman

    Nov 30, 2018
    Hello
My wife and I (both Irish passport holders) will be visiting Vietnam from Cambodia in December. We would like to enter Vietnam by Melong river at Vinh Xuon-Chau Doc or at landport Le Thanh. Can we use eVisas for these crossings please? If not possible and as we are not flying into Vietnam; what other visa possibilities exist for us to use one or both of these crossings please?

    Many thanks

    Dear Shauna,

We would like to inform that Australian passport holders need  visa to travel to Viet Nam. In case you come to Viet Nam by cruise, you need to apply for E-VISA. Based on your itinerary, 1 month single visa is enough for you. Could you lease tell us the name of cruise which you will arrive in Viet Nam? Then we will give you instruction in detail

    Multiple Entry

    Nov 02, 2017
I understand that eVisa services are only valid for people entering Vietnam by plane. But once stamped at the airport of arrival can a multiple-entry E-visa be used to re-enter the country by land and sea?
    Vietnam Evisa Support
    Nov 02, 2017

    Dear David,

We would like to inform that there are 2 types of visa that applicants can apply online that are the e-Visa and Visa on arrival (VOA). An evisa to Vietnam once issued is valid for 30 days with single entry and for tourism purpose only. Tourists can use the evisa to enter and exit Vietnam by air, land or sea. However, please make sure if you are eligible for a Vietnam evisa. Besides, the VOA is only applicable for people arriving in Vietnam by plane to get the visa stamped at the airport. You can use the multiple entry visa to re-enter the country via any port of entry without problem.

Should you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us at visa@vietnam-evisa.org or call us at (+84) 909 343 525

    Hello -

We will be part of an escorted tour from the US. Our port of entry is Phnom Penh, Cambodia but a couple of days later we will be flying from Siem Reap into Ho Chi Minh. Is a Vietnamese Evisa acceptable for this itinerary when we get to Ho Chi Minh airport?

Also, if our departure is December 31, 2017 and a single entry is good for 30 days, how many dates prior to departure should be the ideal time to apply for Evisa? Or is it valid 30 days after issue or 30 days after entry into Vietnam?

Your response will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Thank you for your question.

We would like to inform that if you arrive in Vietnam by plane, you can apply for a Vietnam visa on arrival. It takes 2 working days to process your visa approval letter, and the validity would be from the arrival date you put in the application form.
