Can I extend my expired passport in Vietnam?

Posted by Vietnam-Evisa.Org on Sep 18, 2013

We’re so sorry to inform that you cannot extend your expired passport in Vietnam unless there is your country Embassy in Vietnam. So, please check the expired date of your passport carefully to ensure it is valid at least 6 months before applying Vietnam Visa. If not, you can not boarding the airplane and get Vietnam visa on arrival at the airport.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Thanks for your question!

If she just stays in Vietnam for 4 days in March, she can use her current passport to apply visa and enter Vietnam without any problems

And both of you can apply visa on arrival at this link: https://www.vietnam-evisa.org/apply-visa.html

    Best regards,

    Passport expiring date

    Nov 06, 2015

    Hello,

I didn't know that the passport had to be valid at least 6 months before aplying Vietnam Visa. I am planning on leaving December 26th and coming back January 16th. My passport expires June 6th. (10 days less than 6 months later)

Is the 6 months validation from the day we arrive or the day we leave?

     Dear Sir/ Madam

    Thank you for you question.

We would like to inform you that he passport should be valid maximum 6 months from your date of arrival. But you should ask the airline you have booked whether you can board the plane with current passport. Because of some cases, the passengers could not board the plane with under 6 months passport validity.

If you have any question, please feel free to contact us.

    Regards,

    new passport

    Sep 17, 2015

    Hello,

I didnt notice that my passport is going to expire within 6 months of entering vietnam. I have requested a new passport and was wondering if i have to get a new visum aswell? Or can i use my new passport on my expired passport (if i take this one with me) with the connected visum?

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Thanks for your question.

If you are keeping multiple entries Visa and you have to change a new passport. Normally, you can still use the old Visa, but when you enter Vietnam you have bring both your new and old passport.

The Immigration Officer in the airport will help you to get Visa stamp in the new passport. However, sometimes The Immigration does not accept this way. Thus, the best solution for this case is that you apply for a new Visa with your new passport. Then, you can use the new passport to get Visa stamp without any problem.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any question.

    Thanks,
