How to China e-passport holders apply for Vietnam eVisa

Chinese E-Passport holders are eligible to apply for a Vietnam E-Visa. This is generally considered the most convenient way for Chinese citizens to obtain a visa for Vietnam.

What is Vietnam E-Visa

The Vietnam E-Visa is an official electronic travel authorization issued by the Vietnamese Immigration Department, allowing international travelers to enter the country. It is designed to be a fast and convenient process, entirely completed online, and is generally valid for up to 90 days for both single or multiple-entry purposes.

Since August 15, 2023, Vietnam Government has implemented a more open visa policy, which Chinese citizens (both ordinary and e-passport holders) can now apply for, with significantly improved convenience and applicability.

Apply for the E-Visa Online:

To apply for an E-Visa, China e-passport holders have to follow below steps:

Step 1: Prepare document:

Before you begin your application, please ensure you have the following digital files (all in JPEG format):

-       Image of passport data page: Must be valid for at least 6 months and have at least 2 blank pages.

-       Digital Portrait Photo: Recent passport-sized photo with a white background (full face visible, no glasses, clean background).

-       Valid Email Address: To receive application status notifications and e-visa documents.

-       International Payment Tool: Credit or debit card that supports international payments such as Visa and Mastercard, for paying the visa fee.

Step 2: Apply on the Vietnam E-Visa online system

-       Go to Vietnam-evisa.org website

-       Upload your passport information page and a personal photograph.

-       Accurately fill in your personal information (name, date of birth, passport number, expected date of entry, length of stay, port of entry/exit, etc.).

-       Pay the visa fee.

Step 3. Waiting for Processing and Download

Processing time: Usually takes 3 to 4 business days. (even more urgently with our service)

Visa Collection: After approval, you will receive an email notification. You can download and print the PDF version of the e-visa. You even can show the E-Visa Visa file on your phone to enter Vietnam

 

Prepare for Entry into Vietnam:

• Print your E-Visa: It is not required, travellers can show it on phone to the Immigration officer.
• Valid Passport: Ensure your Chinese e-passport is valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. It must be the one which is registed on the E-Visa.
• 2 ID/ passport photos: In case you do not prepare in advance, You can take them on arrival at Vietnam airports. (The cost is 5 USD per person)

 

Upon Arrival in Vietnam:

• Proceed to Visa Landing Counter: Upon arrival China e-passport holders are required to go to the Visa Landing counter to complete the Visa procedure.
• Present documents: Show Passport, E-Visa and ID photo. The Vietnam Immigration officer will give back a special loose-leaf Visa to China e-passsport holders.
• No stamping fee: Unlike "Visa on Arrival," there is no separate stamping fee to pay at the airport when using an E-Visa.
• Clear immigration: Get in line of Immigration gate and the officer will verify your documents and allow your entry.

By following these steps, Chinese E-Passport holders can successfully enter Vietnam using an E-Visa.

• 无需支付盖章费：与“落地签证（Visa on Arrival）”不同，持电子签证入境时无需在机场额外支付签证盖章费。
• 通过边检：前往移民检查通道排队，移民官将核验您的文件并批准您入境。
